NegativeZero
Based on an extremely old map concept of mine, with some influence from Match Point and other pro maps.

Solid map, but not terribly exciting. But gameplay is is a bit one-dimensional for my taste. - any race in any matchup will just expand northwards along the sides with the possible exception of who will take the islands and when (any long game will basically be decided by who controls the islands)...
NegativeZero
Agreed - from past experience I\'m not exactly very creative with expansion layouts (part of the reason the majority of my published maps have been remakes of SC2 maps lol).
Also do you think the low ground needs to be made unbuildable? modified by NegativeZero

A good idea would be to remove the high ground choke from the 3rd, basically making it one open plateau, and shrinking the bridges to the 4ths instead. This give you a bit of a balance between closeby open and further away but easier to defend gas options.
I don't think it'll need to be unbuildable. There are good flanking and counterattacking paths if terran wants to slowpush through there and whoever takes up postion there is at a terrain fisadvantage already.

Good idea, the only downside is that it might reduce the possibilities for attacks and harassment too much in the late game. Right now with the wide bridge the 4th gas is vulnerable to a heavy attack, and you actually have to dedicate a part of your army to defending that base. With the bridge narrowed probably to minimum width, in the late game you'd basically be forced to attack up onto the high ground plateau, and the map would become even more turtly seeing as how the new wide entrance would already be covered by the high ground.
